High-Revving JDM Icon + Trusting Who Built It + Brad Pitt's IRL Rides

GM drivers!
After a week off for some time with the fam, the Daily DRVN Newsletter is back in action, and we’ve got a stacked lineup of car culture content to get you ready to cruise into the weekend.
First things first. We gotta address Honda Element in the room. A couple weeks back we announced that our ecosystem token, $BSTR was going to be relaunched on Wednesday, June 11th.
Well… The day came and went, and $BSTR was a no show.
During the course of some last-minute testing, we identified a few minor issues with the code (aka token contract) that weren’t quite up to our standards. So we decided to roll it back on the lift and get back to wrenching.
You can view our announcement here.
That said, $BSTR is almost ready for prime time. Stay tuned to your inbox, our X account, or The Labo Discord server to be the first to know when the Buster Token will make it’s grand (re)entrance.
But now, we ride!

🧠 Buster’s Based Metatations: Would You Trust Who Built It?
Presented by the $BSTR token
By @Rext_Racer
Here’s a mental exercise that hits harder the longer you sit with it.
Picture this:
You walk up to a car. Not just any car—your car.
But for a moment, pretend it isn’t yours. You’ve never seen it before.
You just got handed the keys and told you’re about to take it out on track for a hot lap.
You slide into the driver’s seat.
You check the steering—there’s some play.
You fire it up—the belt squeal and there’s a knock you weren’t expecting.
The cabin smells like burnout and excuses.
The harness is half-clipped, gauges flicker, and the build sheet’s got “temporary fix” scribbled in the margins.
Now ask yourself:
Would you trust this car?
And more importantly—would you trust the one who built it?
We all put things into the world.
Our choices. Our work. Our energy. Our reputation.
And just like a car, it drives—whether we’re proud of it or not.
The Mirror Test isn’t just about appearances.
It’s about craftsmanship.
It’s asking:
Would someone else feel safe, inspired, or dialed-in riding with you?
Or would they be bracing for understeer?

The Lesson
You can’t drive like a legend in a car built on shortcuts.
And you can’t expect trust if your life’s full of sketchy welds and zip-tied ethics.
So step back. Look at your life like a stranger would.
Not with judgment—but with standards.
If something rattles, tighten it.
If something leaks, fix it.
If the driver ain’t confident? Time to train the mechanic.
Because whether it’s a car, a code, or your character—
the truth is in the build.

McDonald’s F1 Happy Meal Rumored to Hit U.S., Mexico & Japan Alongside Brad Pitt Movie
Images of F1-themed Happy Meals have surfaced online, fueling rumors that McDonald’s may launch the toy-car-packed meal in the U.S., Mexico, and Japan this summer to coincide with the F1 movie premiere on June 27, 2025.
While the whole “Adult Happy Meal” thing is pure cringe, I might be able to swallow my pride and a few french fries to collect the set. Hell, I may even test my aversion to popcorn.
